Songy Highroads honored by Houston Business Journal at its annual ceremony.
HOUSTON (April 14, 2016) – Songy Highroads has been honored with the 2016 Landmark Award in the Hospitality category for the Hyatt Regency Houston Galleria. The adaptive reuse and conversion of a former retail strip center into a luxury hotel differentiated this winning project. Site orientation and relocation of existing retail tenants were among the challenges that the developer overcame throughout the two-year development process.
The Landmark Awards are given out annually by the Houston Business Journal and recognize Houston real estate projects that demonstrate excellence in land planning, design, construction, economics, marketing and management. Entries were judged based on their impact to the city in criteria such as job creation, innovation, best use of land, site plan, development of surrounding neighborhoods, visual plan, amenities and being environmentally friendly.
“We’re humbled that Houston’s real estate community chose to honor our project with such a prestigious award,” said Todd Nocerini, COO of Songy Highroads. “They have been supportive of this project since Day One, and it is our hope that the Hyatt Regency can continue to add to the vibrancy of this neighborhood for many years to come.”
The Hyatt Regency Houston Galleria opened its doors to guests in October 2015. Since then, the 325-room, full-service hotel has experienced heavy demand from visitors and business travelers eager for a luxury hotel experience in one of the city’s hottest submarkets. Contemporary, yet authentically Texas interiors define the 14-story building. The hotel sits adjacent to the Hyatt Place Houston Galleria, a select-service hotel which Songy Highroads opened this past January.
