Our History

Songy Highroads was formed in 2010 by co-founders David B. Songy, Todd W. Nocerini and Perry M. Waughtal. Songy, Nocerini and Waughtal have been long-term partners since 1992 with the goal of acquiring and developing institutional quality real estate and have since expanded services to the hospitality sector.

SHR has historically positioned its development projects in the Southeastern United States, with its headquarters in Atlanta. This market strategy has given SHR the ability to concentrate on certain geographical areas where they could acquire, renovate and develop institutional quality real estate projects. Additional offices are located in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and Washington, DC.

SHR currently has the confidence of institutional and private investors. Current institutional partners include The Carlyle Group (Washington, DC), Elliott Capital Management (New York), Goldman Sachs (New York), and Real Estate Capital Partners (New York). Current lenders include Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Emigrant Bank, Amegy Bank and BBVA Compass Bank.
